Layout

Argh! You have no idea how much time it took to do this layout. I'd say this is the most challenging layout I've had to do. It took around 12 hours to complete the layout in Photoshop, and a further 8 hours to get all the coding and content up. Coding wouldn't have taken so long if wasn't for the tip Fiona gave on transparencies. Ended up cutting up 63 little transparent pieces. @__@

But I'd have to say, I'm finally satisfied with the layout. Crappily drawn in Photoshop and blotched up with a whole lot of layers (90+ layers! Took forever to load and save.), I'd say that I've put my best effort in. It may not be hard to some, but for this layout, it was the best I could do.

Inspiration credit goes to Vivaldi's wonderful "Four Season" pieces. The proudest parts are the little pictures placed around the layout (the leaves, the flower, the maple leaf and the snowflakes) that I did completely on Photoshop. I love the snowflakes, though it looks alot better bigger. Because this layout takes forever and a day to load, I also made a graphics lite version.

What I really don't like is how the brown merges with the grey/blue. It looks like its bruised. But can't help it, you know, the Autumn to Winter thing. Also the text areas are so small! Eeek. yeah I know, the scrollbar doesn't match, but orange was a colour not yet used (or pink, but errr orange is preferable). I learnt a whole load of stuff for this layout, mainly textures (which you can't see properly anyway). Scrolling script credit goes to DHTML Shock.

If you're interested, you can take a look at the Graphics Lite version. Nothing really different, doesn't look as good, but loads HEAPS faster.
